Jimmy Johnston, MBE for services to education

Jimmy Johnston, MBE for services to education

Jimmy was awarded his MBE for services to education. His story is a powerful one. He left school at 16 with just one qualification working in a specialist engineering field, moving up the ranks to become responsible for the construction and modification of prototype equipment. At the same time he did more and more voluntary work with young people around education and in fact decided to leave the engineering field to become a teacher. In this interview, we talk about :

  • Jimmy’s own search for Great Work
  • his insights on what it takes to encourage young men and women to look for their own path in life.
