The author of Your Comfort Zone Is Killing You, Billy also writes for the Careers section in the Globe and Mail, specializing in effective communication.
Billy continually finds way to build his own courage “muscle” through world travel and adrenaline sports such as bungee jumping, skydiving and swimming with sharks. He has led over 30 wilderness leadership trips for Outward Bound Canada, as well as humanitarian projects in Central America and the South pacific. Kerry Azar is passionate about working with individuals and organizations. In seeking clarity on complexity, she focuses on change and action.
She partners with clients so that, through purposeful dialogue, they can actively reflect on how they operate and thus gain insights, providing a framework for setting and achieving goals. Her work in executive development, both with individuals and teams, is underpinned by her deep understanding of business environments, garnered from many years’ experience as an executive walking the boardrooms and backrooms of multinational companies and consulting firms in Australia, Asia, Europe and the United States.
Her commercial leadership roles have included that of business development manager for an internet company during the heady dot-com/dot crash days (it didn’t crash!). She is currently head of Strategic Partnerships with The Leadership Circle, and an associate with the Potential Project, which provides companies with organizational effectiveness programs based on mindfulness.
Because of peripatetic parents, Kerry attended 12 schools and just managed to matriculate. Despite this, she gained a background as a teacher, academic and researcher in Australia and Germany, with teaching, arts and IT qualifications, as well as a Master of Education. She was a researcher for and part of the author team of the 2018 book The Mind of the Leader: How to Lead Yourself, Your People and Your Organization for Extraordinary Results.

In 2006, Mynor retired from the US Air Force, where he was responsible for the leadership and training of recruiting personnel. He then embarked on his civilian career in San Antonio, Texas, as a leadership development advisor and facilitator for USAA, the leading financial services company supporting the military worldwide.
Mynor has been a leader, coach, mentor and trainer. He has led and managed matrix teams throughout the military and also in corporate organizations. He assisted departments and organizations in the development and execution of their strategic missions in complex environments. He has also designed and facilitated seminars on leadership, coaching and feedback, change management, sales, diversity and inclusion, organizational skills, personal development and effectiveness, and communication, among other topics.
Mynor is an accomplished facilitator. As a master instructor for the US Department of Defense and a certified corporate trainer, he has facilitated numerous developmental training classes, seminars and workshops for small and large groups, both in person and via distant-learning applications. As well, he has supported military, leadership, sales, IT and financial services groups.
Originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, Mynor now lives in Wiesbaden, Germany, with his wife, Judy. When not working they travel, enjoying the historical architecture, cultures and foods of Europe.

After selling her interest in the company, Judy became certified as a coach and returned to independent coaching and consulting, with a focus on leadership development.

Michael was most recently the Chief Learning Officer for Digital Industrial Transformation as a part of General Electric’s Crotonville organization and GE Digital. In his previous role as Managing Vice President, Executive Programs, at Gartner, Michael worked closely with Box of Crayons during the evolution and implementation of Box of Crayons programs as they were deployed across the globe to great success.
On the less glamorous side, he got muddied, bloodied, bruised, and shocked in the head during the first (and hopefully last) incarnation of Jox of Crayons, the little known subsidiary of Box of Crayons designed purely to teach athletic humiliation.

Dr. Pauline Lee, founder of Melbourne-based consultancy company Léargas, specializes in facilitating transformational change in the private sector, government, military and large not-for-profits. Alongside these accomplishments, Pauline failed some of her first-year commerce exams when she became distracted selling poitin (Irish moonshine) to thirsty university students, and she regularly spent lunchtime in school detention for mischievous behaviour (her favourite prank was flying a paper airplane that landed on a teacher’s head). Pauline left Ireland twenty years ago to pursue her doctorate of organizational psychology. Her real prize at the end of that journey was falling in love with an Australian. She now lives in Melbourne with James, their two girls and Molly the cat.

Leanne has over 25 years experience in Sales, Sales Management and Management Education. After graduating from the Ivey School of Business at UWO, she joined the faculty and worked as a consultant to businesses in many different industries. She then began a sales career and quickly took on senior leadership positions involving managing all aspects of operations including recruiting, developing and leading an inside and outside sales force. Chloé has a creative approach to facilitating. She finds delight in giving people the tools and courage to see things through a different lens and find new innovative solutions — an approach no doubt derived from her seven years of experience teaching photography.
Having grown up alongside a family-run leadership development, coaching and training organization, Heart of the Matter, Chloé has a commitment to developing people — it runs in her veins. She’s an active part of the business, involved in the overall development and program facilitation. Concurrently, Chloé works as the client care coordinator on the Box of Crayons’ sales team.
Chloé feeds her sense of curiosity and adventure by exploring her beautiful city of Toronto, canoe camping and hiking, all while stopping every second step to take a photograph.
An award-winning visual arts photographer, she received a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from York University, where she concentrated in photography. She’s now studying Adult Learning at George Brown College.

Evan has worked with organizations for more than 20 years to imagine, create and deploy the ways they work. With a career divided between major roles in corporations, and advisory work with leaders through Metamorphosis Management Group, his favourite work helps leaders grow and shape themselves to lead organizational transitions – bringing reformation, change, learning injections and discoveries of new ways.
As an engineer, he works with people to determine what’s important to measure – and how to go about creating important results; as a humanist, he helps those within the organization to engage, adapt, discover and invent the new futures they’ll inhabit.
He’s been an early stage manager in several startups; worked as a researcher at Harvard’s Kennedy School; and has supported several non-profits in the delivery of solutions and services against critical social challenges. He’s certified in several coaching and leadership development programs including The Leadership Circle, and has worked with high-potential leaders within several university executive education programs.

As a young man, Blair set off to Bible College with a suitcase full of passion and certainty, dreaming of becoming a youth camp leader. A year later, he was asking big questions, and the staff suggested he might find his answers elsewhere. Blair eventually found an outlet for his enquiring mind in the creation and facilitation of award-winning experiential learning programs as cofounder of Eagle’s Flight. During his tenure there, he travelled to six continents, taking his compelling content and playful spirit wherever he went.
An interest in neuroscience took him to his next port of call, the Institute for Health and Human Potential (IHHP), where he spent the next chapter of his life leading the design and facilitation of a suite of world-class emotional intelligence training programs.
In 2012, Blair packed his bags again, for a move to Dublin, where he co-founded GreenLine Conversations, presenting powerful communication training to organizations that had been devastated by Ireland’s recent financial crash. Since then, the simple messaging and elegant design of GreenLine has been embraced by organizations across Europe.
Now back in Canada, Blair finds himself at home in his natural habitat: a lively classroom where ideas are examined and exchanged.
Throughout his journey, Blair has had a life mission of exploring one compelling question: How can I help people get out of their own way, so they can live more meaningful and connected lives? He has found at Box of Crayons some powerful answers.
